2026 Baker's Dozen Manuscript Challenge and MORE!

Who: Rate Your Story Members as well as Non-Members can participate! But only Members will get support and badges, with the exception of our participation badge (see below) and any end-of-year completion badge, which will be posted on our blog for all to grab.

Goals: To keep exploring new ideas with an eye toward seeing which ones work, which ones don’t and why. To keep practicing writing and exploring different techniques and options. To have drafts to fall back on and develop at a later date.

As writers / aspiring authors / authors, it’s important for us to set and achieve goals, as well as to celebrate success. It’s also important to create new content, as well as to take breaks from our Works-in-Progress. With this in mind, we are bringing back our Baker’s Dozen Challenge. All you have to do is create one – just one – “shitty first draft” each month.

Then, attend Lynne Marie’s Putting Your Ideas on Trial Webinar and Workshop Wednesday, January 21, 2026 and Friday January 23, 2026 from 7 PM - 8 PM EST. Part Two is a workshop where, for those who are comfortable sharing, we will discuss the pros and cons of ideas. I may offer up a few of my own, as well to show my process of elimination.
